Mysteries and Legends in Venice

The mysteries and the legends about things that lurk in the shadows in Venice are many. She has a long, violent, and dynamic history. Through the years the stories have been told from neighbor to neighbor, from captain to solder, and from father to son. Many of these are just that… Stories, myths, and legends.

But a few of them are true or at least have a seed of truth within them.

Some are stories about noble deeds and heroes, wars, and conquests. Others are stories about love, and sometimes about lost love… Like the most famous story of them all, Romeo and Juliet.

But some stories speak of darker things, of shadows, and black shapes lingering in the waters, hiding in the night. Some stories are not for children or friends with weak spirits.
